The Liza Colby Sound Premieres Debut LP In Listening Session
On the forthcoming Object to Impossible Destination, the NYC group makes the streets of Rock ‘n’ Roll Manhattan dangerous again

For anyone who thinks the last vapors of the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion were swept away when the door closed on The Continental late last year or when the Hell’s Angels pulled their moving truck away from the club’s original location on E. 3rd St, guess again.
Headed up by Colby herself with a ravenous combo comprised of Charly Roth (drums), Alec Morton (bass) and Jay Shepard (guitar), this band has been shaking things up across the globe with a garage-heavy throwback sound that will remind you of the early days of the gutter rock scene of the Lower East Side before The Strokes and VICE enabled its corporate modification in the early 00s. Now the group is gearing up to present its anticipated debut LP, Object To Impossible Destination, which is not due out until July 19th but will be presented tonight during an exclusive listening session at a private event in the East Village.
The blistering first single, “Eye On You,” was just released and is available for purchase at Apple Music right now. Meanwhile, dig into the video for the song down below.

The Liza Colby Sound brings together the danger of The Plasmatics, the grit of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and the catchiness of classic Blondie in such a way one can only hope it will light the spark that helps to bring back the old Spirit of ’99 back to the old neighborhood, gentrification be damned.
Catch Colby and her Sound next at The Bowery Electric, one of the last bastions of true rock culture on the LES, on July 18th, the day before Destination’s release and then on July 20th at FM Bar in Jersey City. You can also see the singer in the finale of the excellent Netflix original series Russian Doll, directed and starring Natasha Lyonne.
