Yet the last 20 years alone–thanks to generous record deals with Lost Highway and currently Legacy Recordings–has seen Willie working harder than ever to get new material out to his fans, be it through his beautiful original writing, collaborating with friends and family or paying tribute to lost icons.

So in honor of his 87th birthday today, we put together this playlist spanning between 2000’s Milk Cow Blues to this year’s First Rose of Spring.
